Closest focus is only 12cm from outermost edge of the lens, 35mm setting, F 8. Focus on the program wheel of the camera.

Picture  sharpness is very nice, even wide open. Stopped down it's astonishing, better than other manual zoom lenses. It has very good capabilities of close focussing due to a close focus setting. A very nice find. However it's very solid, hence quite heavy.
