These lenses were made for a half frame SLR, the famous Olympus Pen F
series. The lenses are small and light, but do not cover full format.

on the sample image (except closest focus) for full resolution. The
full resolution image opens in a new window, so you can keep it open
for comparison. Focus is on the
satellite
dish to the right of the big solar panel near the center of the photo.

F 8.
F 16.
Closest focus (F8) is 1.5m from
outermost
edge of the lens. Focus on
the top of the camera.
I
have an Olympus Pen F close-up lens. Attached to this 100 mm lens, it
brings down the closest focus to only 20(!)cm, focus on the base of the
lens. The close-up attachment is visible on my Pen F accessory page
(link opens in a new window), about the middle of the page. This photo
is not cropped. You can see the typical dark edges. I did not expect
the close-up lens to allow such a narrow distance on a lens that has
1.5m as closest setting, it was just by chance that I found it out. But
what a nice surprise!
As
this lens does not cover full format (unless you want a Lomo style
heavy vignetting), you have to set your camera to crop mode. Wide open
it is already very nice. It's a relatively small and lightweight lens,
the 143mm in
crop mode brings it to a real tele lens. And it's a
nice lens for the APS-C series cameras, like the A5000/6000.
