Closest focus
is 55cm from outermost edge of the lens, F 8; it's not really close. Focus on the program wheel of the camera.

This lens is very small and very lightweight. Wide open, there are shades on the upper edges (as with all very wide lenses) and it has some softness towards the edges. Carefully aligned there is no distortion. It's a wonderful walk-around lens if you prefer wide angles. At F 8 focussing is very easy because of the wide depth-of-the-field range. It produces nice very wide images with a nostalgic image impression. I like it quite well.
